Outdoor enthusiasts
Now it’s so chilly, buying ski gifts for anyone lucky enough to be whizzing off for fun on the slopes seems particularly appropriate. We love the Alpine Lifestyle Boutique which stocks luxurious chalet-inspired items for your home as well as stunning traditional patterned woollen socks and Alpaca hats that are great for frosty weather at home as well as time spent in the mountains.

Statement shirt lovers
Al Irvine makes head-turning men’s shirts that are both cool and super comfortable and make stunning gifts. Cut from silky cotton poplin, they’re available in bright floral prints from carnations to star flowers and look as great with jeans and a boiled wool jacket as with a nifty suit.
Fine flower print cotton shirt, from Irvine Shirts, £85
Kitchen magicians
Great domestic bliss present for any adult on your list – these cotton covers are a fab eco alternative to cling film for storing bowls of food in your fridge. And you can even jot down on the cover what’s under the lid so you can keep track of everything and its dates! Practical, fun and endlessly re-usable.
Set of three write-on wash-off bowl overs, from Hunter Gatherer, £15
Statement jewellery lovers
Deborah Blyth is a new talent who creates stunning, simple pieces based on imperfect shapes – shaped, beaten, tactile. Their simplicity makes them work brilliantly on all ages and for everything from office to party. We particularly love her Thetis beaten gold disc earrings and ‘cat’s cradle’ twisted gold Amara ring.

Tricky teenagers
Perfect for all those teenagers (or partners, lovers, friends, kids) who lose their chargers, bits of their chargers or who just perpetually steal yours – Tinkalink’s new charger and lead skins. These come in a wide choice of colours from neon to gold glitter and you can even personalise with their gold or silver charms so they’re named as well as colour coded!! For a bigger gift, add in their hugely successful phone cases and skins which can also be personalised with charms.

Creative adults
‘Doing’ gifts are always a winner because they spread the fun of Christmas out still further. And they’re even better when they add in a new skill. The eatsleepdoodle team recently enjoyed a Lettering class at Meticulous Ink in Bath. Starting skill levels ranged from mini to maxi, but everyone loved the class and has continued to use the skills learnt. The company offer brush lettering and calligraphy classes as well. Highly recommended as a relaxing and inspiring gift for adults and older children from 12 upwards.
Lettering classes, from Meticulous Ink, from £40 per person

We recently chanced upon these amazing vibrant baubles made from hand-curled paper straws. They’re part of a disappearing Polish folk tradition known as Pajaki and are handmade by two of the few remaining master craftsmen of the art. Precious - and special for your Christmas tree.
