National Picnic Week is fast approaching, so now's the time to start planning your doodle picnic
We all have our own idea of what makes the perfect picnic and, with National Picnic Week fast approaching (and the rain bucketing down outside), what better time for a touch of daydreamy picnic planning?
First off, you want to find the location that’s going to really do it for you – maybe that’s your local park, a country field by a babbling brook or your own back garden. Then you need to get down to inviting a bunch of your favourite people – well, that’s not hard to do! And what about the food? You might go all-out for a fancy spread, or rock up with a humble sandwich and a flask of coffee.
Then what? What will you all be doing when you’re not eating?
Chatting? – yes.
Dozing? – probably.
Doodling? – you bet!
Throw down an eatsleepdoodle tablecloth over your picnic blanket and dot around a couple of handfuls of doodle wash-out pens and you’ll bring a whole new element to your picnic, letting folks enjoy the relaxation and gentle creativity that a bit of sunny doodling brings. With the whole world going crazy for colouring right now, your doodle picnic is going to be the hit of the summer!
Plus it’s a brilliant way of keeping the kids occupied while the grown-ups are chatting (or maybe vice versa…?). And a spot of doodling on the tablecloth gives us all a slight thrill of the forbidden but without the consequences - use the wash-out pens and your doodles will literally disappear in the wash. Being bad never felt so good!
So come on balmy summer days – we’re doodlin' ready for you.
(NOTE: also works for barbecues and garden parties!)
National Picnic Week runs from Saturday 13 to Sunday 21 June 2015. Find out more here: www.nationalpicnicweek.co.uk
